4-30-09: Hello all! Typically, we do an issue bi-monthly, and are due in May. Unfortunately, we will only post a couple of things, but a full-fledged issue will be published in June. Don’t worry, I’ve got plenty of things coming even in this month, and will keep you posted. Why the delay? Well, things have been crazy in the Gray writers’ world. Diane is finishing up her last semester of school, my professional duties has had me traveling nearly every week since Christmas, and …

There are many ridiculous phobias out there, including those that you can’t imagine people living with at all. For example, I have a friend who is absolutely terrified of goldfish. That’s right folks, harmless little goldfish. Her fear of goldfish goes so far that if she were to find out that you had flushed a former pet goldfish down the toilet, she will refuse to use it at all under the conviction that it will come back up to get her while using it.
As humorous as that story is all …
Why Catholics should support Same-Sex Marriages
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking.
It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
(Holy Bible, I Corinthians 13:4-8
Catholic beliefs support the acceptance of same sex marriage. This may at fist seem like a shock, but after careful consideration of what it means to be Catholic …
Don’t get me wrong about thinking people are stupid: I’m a person too. I do stupid things. Which is why I don’t feel it is right to type up articles about what idiots people are if I don’t have enough of a sense of humor to also make fun of myself. That is what inspired me to write this particular article, but I think most of my friends will agree that my life turns out to be a sitcom a majority of the time.
I’ve never played Sims before. I didn’t …
The Most Selfish Selfless Act
As the Christmas season approaches, many groups band together to start collecting donations for their favorite local charity. Some will collect money to give as a lump sum to the organization itself, some collect new and used toys to give to children’s groups, and some simply donate their time and effort to food banks or wrapping gifts for under privileged kids. Whatever their donation, most people feel as if they have accomplished something.
The truth is, although these donations are greatly appreciated, sometimes they come with a …

Many people I run into think that there isn’t a lot to do in Sacramento, and I’m always wanting to lift the veil off of their foreheads. Seriously, there is SO much to do in Sacramento. Since Gray is mostly about getting involved in your community, I put together just a little list of to do’s for the next couple of months. Random stuff. If you have any other suggestions, e-mail us at graymagazine@gmail.com.
1. Shakespeare’s Julius Ceasar is playing at Sacramento City College up until the beginning of April. Check …
The Accidental Tourist: I give my girlfriend a lot of credit for braving through all of the obscure movies I always find. In my defense, every now and then we run across a good movie that both of us love, but when it comes to the stuff I watch, there are a lot of misses, and I always feel after watching a bad one that I owe her. Not after watching this. At her request because of an assignment for school, we sat down to watch The Accidental Tourist. I’ve …
In this particular incident, the title is quiet literal. I just hope that you can take away the positive information from this experience, which is what I tried to do. Even though it was scary and intense, at least I wasn’t shot.
To begin with, I haven’t had the best experience with the police. In the past I have been present when an officer told my boyfriend to “get on his knee’s where he belonged” for what turned out to be a simple curfew violation, I have had an officer laugh …
Thanksgiving: another holiday filled with family, booze, and food, all served at a great abundance. Yet thanksgiving gives me, and probably most of my fellow vegetarians, vegans, ect. different ideas. I look back at my thanksgivings and remember hunger, boredom and annoyance at the same stupid questions time after time.
You see, thanksgiving is like all holidays: they center around food. Just one great big excuse to eat food. But thanksgiving is the worst for a vegetarian, because there isn’t much on the dining table that people don’t decide to sneak …
I was super excited to see this movie from the first time I heard it was being made. In “A conversation with Neil Gaiman” printed in the last pages of the “Coraline” book, he mentions that the film rights had already been bought and that he looked forward to see if anything would come of it. Six years later, not only did it become a movie, but a 3D animated movie.
To begin with, Neil Gaiman has had other books turn into movies, as well as television series. …
